The barcode.

One number, one direction. It ran the world of retail for fifty years.

9ms

Most platforms sell yesterday's QR. taproute ships a GS1 Digital Link resolver — serial-level routing, DPP linksets, bulk serialization that never charges per code.

The Anti-Trap Pledge

Every clause exists because
someone else does the opposite.

01

Codes never die

Free codes expire after a 14-day trial — discovered after the menus are printed.

Every code you print keeps resolving. Worst case it pauses until you top up — never deleted.

02

No interstitial ads. Ever.

Ads on every free redirect — some appearing weeks after the code was created.

Scan → destination. Nothing in between, on every account, forever.

03

No subscription, no auto-renewal

Forced annual billing and renewal traps you find on your card statement.

Prepaid credits only. There is nothing to renew, so we can never surprise-charge you.

04

No per-code pricing

Paying for a 50-code tier when you only need 8.

Unlimited codes on every account. You pay per scan, not per code.

05

No silent expiry

Unused balance silently vanishes at the end of a billing cycle — no warning, no recourse.

Credits are valid 2 full years. We warn you 30 days ahead, and any top-up renews your entire balance.

Unit economics

Same workload.
One tenth the bill.

A typical small business — 10–50 codes, ~10k scans a month — pays incumbents $168–420 a year in subscriptions. On prepaid credits the same workload costs about $24.

Built API-first

Full REST API and a native MCP server on every account — metered in the same credits.

Questions, answered

What happens when my balance hits zero?

A grace period kicks in: your codes keep redirecting while we warn you. Worst case they pause — they never die, nothing is deleted, and everything resumes the moment you top up.

Do credits expire?

Credits are valid for 2 full years — and any new purchase, even the $12 pack, renews your entire balance for another 2 years. We email you 30 days before anything expires. Nothing ever vanishes silently.

What is GS1 Digital Link and why does it matter?

It is the successor to the retail barcode: by GS1 Sunrise 2027, registers worldwide read 2D codes. taproute ships a conformant resolver — one code on your packaging serves the product page, Digital Product Passport, certifications and per-unit serials. Most QR platforms do not have this.

How much does a custom domain cost?

Nothing. White-label custom domains are included free on every account — competitors charge $350–2,000 per year for the same feature.

Is there an API?

Yes — a full REST API plus a native MCP server on every account, including free ones. Same credits, no separate plan.

What about static QR codes?

Free, unlimited, forever. They are generated in your browser — we never even see them. Dynamic codes are what consume credits when scanned.

How fast are redirects?

Scans are redirected at the edge, in the datacenter closest to the person scanning — typically 10–40ms anywhere in the world.

Print it once.
Trust it forever.
